The bill, which our coalition strongly endorsed, contains a comprehensive set of reforms that address the flaws in Illinois’ supervision system. SB 423 creates a more effective and transparent supervision system that holds people accountable, promotes successful release, and reduces taxpayers’ costs.
SB 423 passed in the House and Senate with bipartisan support and was signed into law by Gov. Pritzker! It will go into effect on January 1st, 2024.
